This blog highlights the main achievements of the ESA-funded SEN4LDN project, which develops high-resolution methods to monitor Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) using Sentinel satellite data. From detailed land cover change detection to improved land productivity and carbon stock analyses, SEN4LDN demonstrates how Earth Observation can provide robust, scalable tools for SDG 15.3.1 reporting.
The project's results, tested in Portugal, Uganda, and Colombia, show how countries can benefit from 10 m resolution, annual assessments of land degradation, supporting national and global sustainability goals.
